Product review: Garnier Sakura White
Pinkish Radiance Moisturising Cream
Anyone else remember
this post?
I’ve wrote my first
impression of this up in that post, feel free to click the link to read!
I’ve mentioned about
this moisturising cream back then and I even promised that I’ll be doing a full
review once I finish it. Here it is! *drum roll*
Here’s the tub now,
it’s almost finished! I use this almost everyday ever since I purchased it,
more than half a year now and I have such a love-hate relationship with it.
Why?
Why did I purchase
this? [Also a part of this is in my First Impression post]
Earlier this year, I’ve
found out that my face gets darker each day and yo gurl has some insecurities.
The struggle to use a bright-coloured hijab with a dark-skin is... tsk. HAHAHA,
so I’ve decided to try products that might work to lighten up my skin. I didn’t
really go and search out online of products in advance, I just went straight to
the store and took my time to carefully look through. Why this specifically?
Well, to be honest with you, I have no other reasons but just wanted to try it
out.
Thoughts?
Well, lemme brief to
you real quick. The first few weeks of applying this onto my face feels quite
too...much for my skin to handle. It feels rather heavy? Thick? Though I already
apply a fairly enough amount but it made my skin feel greasy right after. But
again, I guess I wasn’t familiar to what a “moisturised skin” feels like back
then. And oh, not to forget to mention how far-off the shade of this cream with
the tone of my face, so whenever I apply it on, I would look like someone who’ve
sprinkled flour onto the face. Back then I thought, “woah, this isn’t going too
well...” but y’know, I carried on. I won’t give up to something immediately,
maybe I’m just new to these kind of moisturisers. Weeks have passed, with this
on my face every single day, I feel like I was getting used to it. I couldn’t
really notice any difference on the tone of my skin, not until I used about
half the tub. Its not a drastic change to a very fair tone tho – but at least I
wasn’t as dark as I was earlier this year. I was also (and still is) using
other products onto my face regularly after applying this moisturiser, the
regular routine. Again I thought, maybe this moisturiser isn’t actually the
reason why my face is fairer? What if...without this, and continue on with the
other products that I use, I would still see the same result? And so, I did. I
stopped using this for about two to three weeks. Guess what? I WAS IN NEED OF
IT. PLEASE. My skin was dying (it looked like it was), my skin looked so dull
and my dark spots started to re-appear again. I complained on how this product
made my skin feel funny at first but now that my skin had adapted to it, it
became one of my essential needs. That’s why I said, this gave me the love-hate
feeling.
PROS?
It has SPF21/PA+++,
so I use this every morning. It is formulated with Sakura extract, Vitamin B3
and CG. Pinkish Radiance – yes, your cheeks will look more pinkish, but it
takes quite some time. Results in a rosy glowing, healthier-looking skin. It
smells goooooooood too. Who doesn’t love good-smelling products? Plus, this
will last you about 6 months, depending on your applications.
CONS?
I mentioned that it
felt rather thick on my skin, it takes time to really get it absorbed onto the
face. It leaves my skin feeling a bit greasy but that only lasted for the first
few months! I’m glad.
This is the only
Garnier product line - Sakura White that currently suits my skin. I’ve tried
the Light Complete Milky Lightening Dew Toner and.... it
stinged my face miserably.
I’ve also purchased Sakura
White Pinkish Radiance Ultimate Serum with 5000 Whitening Capsules but I
still haven't had the chance to use this regularly as I am still trying to
finish and test my current routine. Yo gurl’s skin needs some rest too HAHA.
Next year, maybe next year.
Overall rate?
3 penguins out of 5.
Will I repurchase this?
I might.
Have any of you guys try any Garnier
products? Come, share!
That’s all lovelies.
Assalamualaikum and have a great day ahead!
XOXO, Fai.
